Erin Scharer Erin Scharer is the athletic trainer at LBCC. You can find her in the training, which is located in the Gym, and it is the first door on the left once you enter the gym. She will be in the training room Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm-2pm, and anyone is welcome to see her if they are concerned with any injuries they have. She says "I wanted to be an athletic trainer because I grow up around athletics, and loved athletics. I love being around athletes, and their energy, so that's what drew me into the field. I enjoy rehabbing athletes injuries so they can get back out on the court, or field."..."Also before I came to LBCC I was working full time at Willamette University, and left there because the time demand was so great, and I have been gone for a couple years so I was really missing working in an athletic training room, and working with the athletes. I saw this job open up, it was part time so it fitted well with my schedule."  Er

This is the advanced basketball class here at LBCC. The class is every Monday and Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 PM. The athletes are doing a "2 man shooting drill," designed by Everett  Hartman the instructor for the class. How the drill works is, you have 2 lines, and one person from each line does the drill. The person in the middle line will pass the ball to the line that is on the left wing. After the person in the middle line will set a screen for the person on the wing then will roll to the basket. The person in the wing after using the screen set for them will pass the ball to the person that rolled to the basket. The person that rolled to the basket will finish with a layup, and the person that passed the ball will receive a pass from Everett Hartman, and they have the choice to shoot a 3 point shot, or mid range shot.  Joehnis Joyce is the athlete in the red camo shorts, with no shirt on. He is a standout basketball player in the class. He attends LBCC and

Everett Brandt Everett Brandt is majoring in electrical computer engineering. “I knew I wanted to be an engineer coming out of high school, I really enjoyed math and science. I was introduced to a little bit of coding in high school, I really liked that, and electrical has a lot of math, and I really enjoy math. This field has a lot of growth in it, because there's a lot of new developments in it, and it’s constantly changing. So it’s a pretty interesting field, it’s easy to get a job, there’s a lot of reasons why I like this field. My goal is to get a job in the summer that is kind of related to what i’m doing in college, and to keep my grades good of course.” Rachel Pearce-Smith Rachel Pearce-Smith works in the learning center at the front desk. “I am grateful I get to work with great and kind co-workers, and I enjoy helping people. My superiors have been giving me more challenges lately so i’ve enjoyed that, challenges that make me use my brain more

Isaac Savage Isaac Savage is a psychology major who was planning on just going to OSU, however he took a somewhat different route. “I was accepted into OSU, but I heard about this dual partnership program which I could go into OSU, and LBCC at the same time. Also I decided to take most of my classes at LBCC because they are a lot cheaper, plus I had the Oregon promise, so most of my college tuition at LBCC was paid off. I also have loan money from LBCC, and I can use that to pay my tuition at OSU.” “What I do for fun though is, I like to workout, talk to my friends and see how they are doing. That’s kind of why I’m majoring in psychology, so I can help out my friends."     Erik Lee Erik Lee is an Albany native who is in his junior year. After attending South Albany high school, he dual enrolled at Oregon State University, and Linn-Benton community college looking to obtain a bachelor's degree in business management, as well as a human resources cer
